Lüleburgaz which is located approximately 60 kilometres south west of Istanbul has a population of some 100,000. Even though it has a population of this size, Lüleburgaz has no wastewater treatment facility and is currently discharging untreated sewage into the Eugene River and ultimately into the Aegean Sea. The provision of Supervision Services for a new wastewater treatment facility forms part of the project brief in addition to the provision of Technical Assistance to set up a Project Implementation Unit or PIU and a Water Utility Department.
We are delighted to announce that the Lüleburgaz Wastewater Management Project was shortlisted for ‘Overseas Project of the Year’ as part of the ACEI Annual Excellence Awards 2014. The Lüleburgaz project was placed in the Large Projects category (over €10 Million). The overall winner was announced on Friday 28th March 2014 at the ACEI Annual Awards Dinner in the Four Seasons Hotel, Dublin.
