Barry Transportation Shortlisted for the Geoscience Ireland Award
October 2018
We are delighted that Barry Transportation have been shortlisted for the Geoscience Award at this year’s Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards, sponsored by Geoscience Ireland. The Ballygaddy Bridge-Bespoke Treatment of Karst Feature involved a water bearing, sand filled, linear, active karst feature was caused by an historic fault and measured 3.5m wide, 20m long and 13m deep. Barry Transportation with our Contractor Roadbridge designed and constructed a concrete karst slab founded on rock to span the void. The solution was designed and constructed within one month of discovery.
