A new four-arm signal controlled junction was designed on Grange Road to facilitate access to the development from Grange Road to the south. A new roundabout junction was also designed on Coast Road to the west to facilitate a secondary development access. Both junctions have been constructed and are currently operational. All internal roads and junctions have been designed to recommended guidelines and subjected to detailed swept path analyses to ensure a high level of service is provided for all vehicles. Consideration also given to pedestrian and cyclist facilities at internal and external junctions.
Traffic engineering services includes close liaison with the client and broader project team on the internal site layout and development accesses. Details and specifications for internal roads, access to internal car parks, and internal development pedestrian facilities are advised to the project team. Frequent meetings are held with the Local Authority roads engineers pre-planning to ensure that specific Local Authority concerns and requests are accommodated into the design.
