PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Donegal Group A DBO Contract for wastewater treatment facilities at Donegal Town, Ballyshannon and Rossnowlagh including main lift pump stations, rising main, outfalls and Sludge thermal drier.

Donegal Town (12,000 P.E.):

  • A Main Pump Station constructed entirely underground in environmentally sensitive location. The Foul pump capacity to the WWTW is 210 l/s with a storm pump capacity of 872 l/s
  • Rising main pipeline: - 450mm dia., 3,679 m long. Treated Effluent Outfall pipeline:- 450mm dia., 4,004 m long
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant for 12,000 Population Equivalent with storm storage facility and extensive odour treatment
  • Treated effluent standards, 25mg/l BOD, 35 mg/l Suspended solids
  • Sludge Treatment Centre includes liquid and cake sludge reception facilities. The Sludge Thermal Drier capacity is for 1,670 tonnes Dry Solids per annum to produce a biosolid with > 92% Dry Solids for re-use

Ballyshannon Town (6,100 P.E.):
  • 2 No. Pump Stations
  • Rising main pipeline: - 315mm dia., 2,204 m long
  • Treated Effluent outfall laid in sea bed- 450mm dia., 730 m long
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant for 6,100 Population Equivalent

Rossnowlagh (1,600 P.E.):
  • 1 No. Pump Stations and storm storage
  • Rising main pipeline: - 150mm dia., 1,483 m long
  • Treated Effluent outfall laid in sea bed - 315mm dia., 1,745 m long
