    Efficiency & Audits

Following completion of the energy audit at Terryland Water Treatment Plant (WTP), we completed an energy audit report highlighting significant opportunities for Irish Water to reduce energy consumption at the treatment plant, particularly in the area of pumping. We were commissioned to prepare tender documents to implement the upgrades works presented in the energy audit report.

The upgrade works are now in operation, and from Irish Water data gathered, the works have improved the hydraulic efficiency of the system, providing a reduction in annual energy consumption at the treatment plant. The implementation of our recommendations has also reduced Irish Water’s CO2 emissions. Currently, the expected kWh generated per annum is 4,505,556. The expected payback period of these works is 3.7 years.
