We have been appointed by Wicklow County Council, in partnership with NTA, to provide consultancy services bringing the project through design, planning and construction stages developing a scheme that enhances the pedestrian, cyclist and bus facilities in the vicinity of Bray Bridge and provides functional and legible facilities that meet the needs of all user groups.

Bray (Fran O’Toole) Bridge is a three-span masonry arch bridge which was built in 1856. The bridge provides a vital crossing point of the river Dargle for the R-761, which forms a part of the main arterial route through Bray. This highly trafficked corridor is essential for vehicles, buses, cyclists and pedestrians. The current road layout on the bridge consists of a single lane of traffic and cycle lane in both directions with footpaths of 1.7-1.8m width either side. This layout coupled with the high volumes of traffic and the number of junctions in the vicinity of the bridge leads to severe congestion, particularly during peak hours.

Once completed, the upgrade will alleviate the congestion currently faced in the area.
