    Refurbishment & Extensions

The Officer's Mess in McKee is one of the feature buildings of McKee Barracks in Dublin 7. It is a brick-built structure with a clay tiled roof, constructed in the late 19th century, overlooking the main square of the Barracks. It consists of a three-four storey building with a partial basement. It is included on Dublin City Council's Register of Protected Structures. We were engaged with the project through the refurbishment of the main building and out-buildings. Phase One of the works included upgrading of the roof structures, strengthening of chimney stacks and remedial works to the brickwork facade. Structural works included structural inspections and reports, development of tender and construction details and site monitoring. Phase Two of the works included upgrading of footpaths, paved areas and retaining walls to the building perimeter and replacement of roof structures to out-buildings. We provided full Civil & Structural Engineering and PSDP Services for the project.
