Electrical Inspections Generator Ready Programme, Various Locations
We were appointed as consultant to deliver the Generator Ready and Electrical Inspection programme. This programme included inspection, testing and reporting of an initial 45 Irish Water - Water and Wastewater Sites in accordance with HSA and Safe Electric Guidelines. Irish Water also required an assessment of each site in terms of electricity supply loss and potential impacts. This included a process to carry out electrical inspections for 6,000+ Irish Water sites.
We’re implementing a strategy to assist Irish Water in achieving compliance and objectives to mitigate against extreme weather events and power loss. We’ve been appointed to assess each site in terms of electricity supply loss and potential impacts. The strategy will assist Irish Water in mitigation against extreme weather events by ensuring each site is ‘Generator Ready.’
The primary purpose of this pilot programme was to develop a process to allow Irish Water to roll out inspections and maintenance and prioritise remedial works in terms of risk. As part of the pilot programme, we have carried out detailed site inspections and assessments of some of Irish Water’s most critical infrastructure including Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Leixlip WTP.
This pilot programme was very successful leading to the further assessments at over 120 sites. This programme has enabled Irish Water to comply with their statutory duties and implement best practice inspection and maintenance processes across their assets.
