We were appointed by Wicklow County Council to carry-out the design of improved pedestrian and cycle facilities along Southern Cross Road, Bray. The scheme length is two kilometres and supports the Great Dublin Area Network Cycle Plan.

The aim of this scheme was to provide new, high quality cycle facilities and improve existing facilities for pedestrians and bus users on the Southern Cross Road, Bray. The scheme aimed to provide pedestrian and cycle linkages to existing, planned and proposed facilities on Killarney Road, Vevay Road, Southern Cross Lands, Boghall Road, the Swan River Greenway and the Kilmacanogue to Southern Cross Greenway. The provision of new and improved cycle, pedestrian and bus facilities will reduce journey times and provide safer facilities. This will encourage a model shift to more sustainable modes of transport.

The design was undertaken in accordance with guidance set-out in the Design Manual for Urban Roads (DMURS) and the National Cycle Manual and will priorities the user hierarchy set-out in DMURS, which promotes sustainable forms of transport.
