    Wastewater

We were included in all stages of these projects from preliminary design, planning, detailed design, tendering, construction supervision and handover.  The scheme involves the provision of new and upgraded wastewater treatment plants and sewerage networks for four towns ranging in size from 1,000 to 12,000 PE as detailed below.

    • Killybegs Wastewater Treatment Plant (WwTP) & Sewerage Scheme created a new 4,200PE WwTP. This part of the scheme also included new Gravity Sewers, pumping station and rising main for the Roshin local area, main pump station, pump station and marine outfall.
    • Bundoran WwTP & Sewerage Scheme includes a new WwTP of 12,000PE. Additionally, this part of the scheme includes refurbishing the existing main pumping station and construction of a storm storage tank, a west end pumping station and rising main, a treated effluent land and marine outfall and storm water marine outfall, gravity foul sewers and decommissioning of six existing pumping stations.
    • Glencolumbkille WwTP & Sewerage Scheme includes a new WwTP of 1,000PE, a new gravity sewer network and two network pumping stations and rising mains.
    • Convoy WWTP & Sewerage Scheme includes a new wastewater treatment plant of 3,500PE and upgrade works to the existing sewerage collection network and refurbishment to existing WwTP.

The planning route was via Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations and were accompanied by Appropriate Assessments and other environmental reports including archaeology and ecology as necessary.  Any planning constraints were incorporated into the tender documents and monitored during the construction phase.

All WWTP are now constructed and fully operational.  The DNP is concluded and there is a 7-year operate period.
