    Wastewater

    We were appointed by Fingal County Council to prepare the original preliminary report and execute detailed design, procurement, and construction supervision for Balbriggan and Skerries WWTS. We also completed a detailed site selection process and EIS for the treatment plant.

    The scheme was subsequently split into the following contracts:

    • Contract 1 Phase 1 (30,000 PE WWTP) and Phase 2 (70,000 PE WWTP)
    • Contract 2 – Dublin Road Pump Station & Rising Main - Public Works Contract PW-CF4 v.1.7
    • Contract 2 – Rush Road Pump Station and Gravity Main - Major Civils Irish Water Form of Contract
    • Contract 2 – Loughshinny Pump Station and Rising Main - Major Civils Irish Water Form of Contract

    The key features of this project are as follows:

    Contract 1 WWTP:

    • 30,000 PE and then 70,000 PE WWTP (including UV/tertiary treatment)
    • Sludge thickening and dewatering facilities
    • DN900 x 2km long sea outfall


    Contract 2 – Pump Stations and Network Contracts:

    • Dublin Road Pump Station & Rising Main - Isaacs Bower PS (250 l/s), Dublin Road PS (532l/s), approx. 6.5 km of rising mains, 1km of gravity main and 1,100m3 x 6.5m deep precast concrete storm water handling facility
    • Rush Road Pump Station and Gravity Main – Rush Road PS (186 l/s), DN1200 x 470 long sewer (trenchless technology), 700 m³ x 6m deep precast concrete storm water handling facility (Caisson Construction)
    • Loughshinny Pump Station and Rising Main –, Loughshinny PS (12.5 l/s), Storm Tank and 2.5km Rising Main
