    Kakumiro Kagadi Road Project
The project involved the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Kakumiro-Kagadi Road, a 74km long local road in Kibale Province in Central Uganda. The works involved the widening of the existing carriageway to Class C standard, and the construction of new pavement layers (sub-base and gravel wearing course).

    Mubende Kakumiro Road Project
The project was a follow on from the previously completed Kakumiro Kagadi Road project and involved the rehabilitation and upgrading of the 30km long road from Mubende to Kakumiro in Kibale Province in Central Uganda. The works involved the widening of the existing carriageway to Class C standard, and the construction of new pavement layers (sub-base and wearing course, both granular and DBSD).

    Both Schemes
An analysis of the project by us, prior to commencement of the works, confirmed that completion could be achieved more economically by implementing the works by direct Plant and Labour Contracts, rather than by standard Client/Consultant/Contractor methods. The Works were implemented in this way with close consultation with the International Labour Organisation and local Government Agencies and NGOs

Post project assessment by the OECD (DAC Committee) has confirmed that project objectives, in terms of benefits to the region, are being achieved and there has been a significant increase in general commercial activity in the area served by the road.
